A record-breaking edition that lit up the streets of the Capital! Thousands of runners, from marathoners to enthusiasts, made the 30th anniversary of the Rome Marathon unforgettable.
This 30th edition of the Rome Marathon 2025 set a new participation record: over 28,000 runners took part in the marathon, more than 12,000 joined the Fun Run on Saturday, and most importantly, it saw the highest number of international participants ever.
It was also an incredible success for Strongers! We were honored to be represented by 20 relay teams, with 80 athletes from all over Europe.
Runners came from Belgium, Spain, Germany, France, and many regions of Italy—Naples, Rome, the Marche—spanning all ages, from 13-year-olds in the Fun Race to over 67-year-olds.
These numbers confirm one thing: running is truly a sport for all ages!
In 2024, thanks to the generosity of many, we funded three research grants of €2,900 each for young oncologists dedicated to fighting lung cancer.
For 2025, our goal is even more ambitious: to raise €12,000 to:
✅ Award four young researchers with a €3,000 grant each
✅ Support innovative projects on diagnosis, therapies, and prevention
✅ Fund new scientific discoveries
Every donation makes a difference! Help us reach our goal and bring hope to research.
For two years, Strongers Social Club has been part of the Charity Programme of the Rome Marathon. This partnership has given us the opportunity to play a leading role in an event of international scope, where sport is transformed into a powerful instrument of solidarity. Our presence at the marathon not only promotes the values of sport, but also raises crucial funds for scientific research, creating a concrete impact in the fight against lung cancer.
The Rome Marathon represents a great opportunity to raise funds to support scientific research. Our Project 2025 aims to finance four research cheques for young talents engaged in the fight against lung cancer, with the objective of supporting innovative projects on diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
The Rome Marathon is much more than just a race: it is a unique experience that allows you to explore the heart of a historic city, amidst logistical challenges and security measures. Managing an event of this size is an extraordinary opportunity to learn how the organisation of such a complex and fascinating event works, especially in a city rich in culture, history and urban contrasts. Every year, we face new challenges, improving our organisational and networking skills.
Being part of the Charity Program of the Rome Marathon also offers Strongers Social Club a key competitive advantage: exclusive access to the relay's bibs. This allows us to raise funds strategically, directing them directly to scientific research projects.
Participating actively as a third sector organisation allows us to connect with a community of extraordinary runners, each with their own story and motivation. In addition, we collaborate with other entities committed to important causes, creating a network of support and exchange. Thanks to this synergy, we have managed to grow Strongers Social Club, turning every participant into a ‘Strongers’, a true supporter of the cause of scientific research.
Could a sporting challenge have been missing from our Stand? Definitely not. Couldn’t miss it!
The rule is very simple. 30-second countdown, when you’re ready, you set off and pedal at full power.

Anyone who passed through the Circus Maximus village could not fail to notice our Super Erore Cactus wandering around celebrating among the stands, under the stage dancing and hugging little and big runners, visitors, families and celebrating with the other mascots.
It was a heart-opening event for all the children, who desperately wanted to take a photo, hug her, simply say hello, high-five.
We are proud of this success and we are also convinced that it will be difficult to forget us!
On 15 and 16 March, the Volunteer Fun Village organised by CSV Lazio was a success with no less than 107 associations present. An incredible day.
These are photos of Strongers with our friends, with whom we would like to collaborate on sports and educational initiatives!
