Words of Wisdom: The Director's Address

Parents, children, and organizers were inspired by Director Paolo Giuntarelli’s address on regional policies supporting sports and inclusion. His enthusiasm for the project was evident, as he described it as a perfect example of how sports can promote health, social inclusion, and positive values. The matches were a powerful tool for teaching children about diversity and empathy, as they interacted with players from the Polisportiva Silenziosa Romana. Coaches set an excellent example by inviting players from opposing teams to join their team, fostering a sense of camaraderie and understanding. The shared passion for football enabled children to experience the challenges and rewards of playing on a team with deaf and mute players, improving their communication skills and building lasting friendships. The project’s success is a testament to the willingness of all participants to embrace the spirit of sharing and inclusivity.

Alessia was the unanimous choice for best goalkeeper of the tournament

Pietro won the award for the tournament's top scorer.

Every participant was honored with a medal presented by the Director Paolo Giuntarelli

Acknowledgments

We would like to thank the Lazio Region and Sport e Salute SpA for their patronage of the ‘United for Sports’ project. Their involvement is a testament to the institutions’ dedication to supporting the third sector and being active participants in our community

Our heartfelt thanks go to the Italian Referees Association, Rome Section, and especially to President Daniele Doveri, for supporting our project and sending three representatives: coordinator Simone Volpetti, and referees Ludovica and Niccolò, who officiated all seven tournament matches

Without the generous donations of our supporters, this event would not have been possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event happen.

Special thanks go to Valerio Nicolai, President of Strongers, Lloyd Solustri of Sport Without Borders, and Gabriele Serpi, Vice President of Polisportiva Silenziosa Romana.

Their commitment made it possible to organize the first ‘United for Sports’ event and involve these fantastic under-14 players in a solidarity football tournament.

THANK YOU, and let’s look forward to the next ‘United for Sports’ event!
